Internship Opportunity (Includes Tuition Stipend)

Student Internship, Office of Great Lakes, one semester/second semester possible 
MSU’s Canadian Studies Center is working with the Office of Great Lakes to provide a junior or senior student majoring in an area of environmental policy an internship opportunity. The selected student will work in a professional environment that is focused on issues affecting or involving the Great Lakes. The student will be involved in the everyday operations of an office that is charged with providing informational programs, guiding government policies, and advocating wise practices regarding our Great Lakes resources.


Responsibilities of the student may include assisting the coordination of meetings and informational programs, tracking activity on issues related to the Great Lakes, assisting on regional discussions related to prevention and control of aquatic invasive species, helping record network meetings, and assisting the basic research efforts of the office.


The Office of Great Lakes’ Internship offers a tuition stipend of $500. The student must be fully enrolled at MSU and able to maintain routine hours from week to week. The student will report to the Office of Great Lakes and occasionally to the Canadian Studies Center or MSU Fisheries and Wildlife Chair, Professor Michael Jones.
