Paid Student Assistantships: MC 201/2

We are seeking two Madison students to serve as Student Assistants for MC 201 and MC 202 during the 2012-2013 school year.  The Student Assistants will need to attend the 201 and 202 lectures and will help first year students by organizing study sessions, mentoring students, and integrating extra curricular activities associated with 201 and 202 with the activities sponsored by Residential Life.

 

Student Assistants must be available MW 10am-noon in Fall 2012 and MW 11:10-12:40 in Spring 2013.

 

Successful candidates will have some or all of the following qualifications:

-They will have taken MC 201 and/or MC 202;

-They will be active members of the Madison community;

-They will have evidence of success in leadership, team-building, or community organizing; and

-They will have demonstrated initiative and a willingness and capacity to engage with diverse groups of students

 

Teaching Assistants will earn $10 an hour and be expected to work an average of 10 hours a week throughout the 15-week semesters.

-A 200-300 word statement explaining how you meet the qualifications for the job;

-A transcript (unofficial copy being fine); and

-A list of your 201 and 202 section professors and one additional Madison professor who we can contact with questions about your abilities.
